Bequests

All gifts, large and small, do make a difference and often our supporters have wanted to continue their support past their lifetime and have achieved this by remembering the SPCA after having provided for their families.

If you decide to help Rotorua SPCA by remembering the Society in your will, we suggest that you take advice from a lawyer of Public Trust.

If you wish to remember Rotorua SPCA in your will, there are some important points to note:

Our name is Rotorua Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

As our work is so varied, we would be grateful if you could work your bequest along the following lines:
“I, (name), would like to bequeath (amount) to Rotorua Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals for the general purposes of the Society and its work.”

If you wish to be specific about your bequest, please make your intent clear. For example:
“for the care and protection of cats and kittens” or “ for the work carried out by the Education Officer”.

There are several ways in which you can make a gift. Consider these options…….

  • The simplest is by way of a residue gift. After providing for your family, you can nominate that you want to leave part or all of what is left of your estate (the residue) to Rotorua SPCA.
  • Another way is by leaving a nominated percentage or fraction of your estate to Rotorua SPCA.
  • Or you may prefer to leave a specific gift – an amount of money, real estate, jewellery, shares, bonds or such other gift as you wish to nominate.
