"Until one has loved an animal a part of one's soul remains unawakened" - Anatole France
At SPCA Rotorua we work hard to ensure that all animals in our care, with suitable temperaments and of good health, are offered the chance to be placed into loving 'forever' homes. We operate a NO "time limit" policy for all of our animals available for adoption, and are committed to caring for them unil they find new homes.
Our friendly staff are dedicated to ensuring our animals, and potential owners, find their 'perfect match'. Before coming into our Animal Centre, we suggest you visit our adoption pages to view our list of animals available. If you see an animal you like, please contact us to check it is still available prior to visiting our Centre.
Visiting our Animal Centre
Our Animal Centre is open Monday to Friday from 1pm - 4pm, Saturday 10am - 4pm, CLOSED Sundays (we are closed on public holidays). You are welcome to meet our animals availble for adoption at anytime during these hours. When you come in to meet our adoptees, we take time to find out a little about you, your lifestyle, your property and your experience with animals. We will gladly listen and offer advice, to help ensure you find the perfect companion to suit your needs. Please allow plenty of time for your visit and don't feel down hearted if you are unable to find your 'perfect match' straight away. It may take several visits before you find the right animal for you, but don't give up - your forever companion will be well worth the wait!
Ready to go...
We consider it our responsibility to make sure all animals adopted from our Animal Centre are prepared and ready to go to new homes. All of our animals have been health and temperament checked. Our cats, kittens, dogs, puppies and rabbits have also received flea and worm treatments, been desexed (not rabbits), vaccinated and mircochipped.
We do not 'sell' our animals. However, we do charge a fee to help us to partially recover some of the costs we incur to care for and prepare our animals for rehoming.
