The beautiful Ruby came to us with malnutrition, she was cold, and very sad. The pure bred English Pointer Ruby had been abandoned, and was rescued by our Inspector.

The staff rallied to get Ruby fed, wrapped in blankets for warmth and gave lots of cuddles and love in the first 72 hours, so that she was not frightened, especially  as one of the first people she encountered was a vet with needles!

Even though Ruby had a small fracture in her leg, probably from foraging for food she seemed to recover quickly but we could not get the sadness from her eyes to dissipate.

We appealed on facebook for a FURever home; we were looking for a special owner that knew the ‘Pointer breed’ as they are prone to jumping.  We were so lucky that a lovely local Rotorua lady has seen the pictures and had recently lost her beloved Pointer and had only one at home pinning for his friend.  Ruby found her Furever home!
